I am a self-employed Everest Home Improvements Rep. We are a British, direct sales company. I am essentially a hated door to door double glazing salesperson. The battle to stay motivated in the light of such consumer savvyness is never won for me. I fight to convince people of the misery and hardship that will ensue if they fail to install one or more of our impressive products. I enter their zones ready to meet the "what ifs" with my surmises, predictions and guesses based on whimsical, if any, evidence that they actually may need the producs. We do have excellent products; unequivically 'The Best' in fact.... So why do I find it such a crusade? Because, I think the public make it a battle. I have to extract the money. They want to choose. I cannot just satisfy their wants, the public have to be sure there is no wiser options either. There is growing hostility and I don't want to do it anymore. The public never wanted to be introduced to my business in th first place. 'Creating the demand' was never less popular. It is definitely going out of fashion. Because of the internet. More and more people are saying. If they want something they shall source it themselves. This self reliance, lack of trust and savvyness coupled with the ungentlemanly behaviour of not caring if I make a living or not, makes this job very unpleasant with zero to look forward to. The cynisism of the world is upon me. I could join a company with a more subtle approach. Stay where I am and do more e marketing perhaps. I don't know. The whole economy is based on the exchange of goods and services. Where are we going to next then?

We do exist, we have existed since 1997. We have kind of existed since 1992 by didn't manifest till '97. We have evolved since then as an informal network, we are formalising that network right now. We have been through three web incarnations, we have a new site in progress that should be in shape in three weeks (maybe 6). We are organic, flexible, fast, we have members (no employees) and we turn issues into solutions. We work inside our clients - all of whom are change-makers. We have driven Fair Trade, we have evolved 'self-esteem' (not well-being) and we are engaged in climate change mitigation through green energy development and rainforest protection. Our business is modeled on a dandelion (fragile collection of powerfully independent seeds) in the old days you may have thought of us as an incubator.

Dee W Hock (founder of VISA and author of the Chaordic Principle)... ‘Thanks for the nice metaphor - just right for a country kid from Utah.

And thanks for straightening out my ever regressive, Newtonian mind which referred to your new idea as an
Advertising Agency
Amazing what happens when human ingenuity is released. Now give host universal a puff, watch the seeds scatter and fractal the world's nice, neat mechanical lawns with a
carpet of yellow flowers,
And by-the-way, the new leaves we always ate in the spring as "dandelion greens" long before spinach and lettuce came forth in the garden.
With all best wishes, Dee’

If you would like any help with visualizing the future, let us know. It could be fun to help out.
